Yeah, I'd say you're onto something there....

Although I think this downturn may be worse then some think, I also think the chances of a Japanese-type market (1990-2000) are also not right....The main reason why the Japanese have not got out of their funk is cultural; Although the hubris at the top of the American bubble equaled Japan 1989, I think we'll condense their 10 year itch (and going) to a shorter timeframe- I think Americans more readily admit failure (although we could do a lot better), and are willing to move on, and look for hope again...the cycle needed to clear the decks, and start a new bull run...we'll see..

Cultural determines the wealth of nations more than anything else.
