Greenspan didn't see the current problems 3 months ago.

Greenspan doesn't have time to examine petty macroeconomic problems. He is too busy manning the money-printing presses.

Still self confidence is unshaken on SI. 6 months of downturn or 12 months of downturn--which will it be?

I'm betting on several ugly years of nasty downturn, followed by a few more years of stagnation and a distaste for equities in general, followed by slow growth. We may revisit Naz 5000 twenty or thirty years from now.

The largest position in my IRA has been BEARX (the Prudent Bear mutual fund) for the last year of so. It's up about 30% since I bought it. The second biggest is BGEIX (a mutual fund that mirrors the XAU.X gold index), which is down a little bit.
