Well we have had a very long period of economic expansion. Some think the tech meltdown will take down the economy. I for one do not agree. We may be going into a recession but the government and the fed have much more to play with than we had in the 20's. In every situation there is an opportunity. Consumer debt levels are high but I sure don't see that as a reason to put us in a depression. We need more factors than just that. Companies that have debt problems will probably disappear and the pieces will be bought by ones that are a little bit smarter. Creative destruction is necessary in the world to get out the dead wood! JMHO
