Which company had more "potential" 15 years ago? 10 years ago? 5 years ago? Which company failed to show growth over that period?

If AMD sells 10 large servers more this year than last year,clearly their "growth" in percentage terms is higher than Intel's in that product. The question then becomes, "so what?" At some point in this discussion, absolute numbers are very important.

Well...AMD announce that CPU sales would DROP - in Q1 2001 - from 7 million in Q 2000 to 6 or 6.5 million in Q1 2001.

What kind of potential growth is this?
