I'm great Guilder just raved about the broadband revolution and how Avnx was ran by a genius...trillion dollar fiber mkt.Avnx does photonics processing solutions that enable optical communication networks to do next generation performance. We haven't even began broadband/internet..Chat rooms are not the heat of the internet...even if they're fun and you and I got to meet..Someday there will be 1 tv/pc/jetson home controlled by one product...b2b....talk to you house from work...you can teach me live thru the internet how to make these stupid plants in my yard grow..we are only in the infant stage in the net and bio meds...we may get to see the fountain of youth...cure for cancer...Hell we may even get to be beamed from work to hm<gg> There will be new mkt leaders in the next generation..I am going to be there when the next intc is born..Hell I may already own some shares..These are my hope stocks jdsu..brcm..beas..avnx..extr..fdry..and a few more..

According to the Wall Street Journal, they make photonic processors, which has something to do with fiber optics, but I have no idea how photonic processors work or whether Avanex is the best at what they do or whether anyone is buying photonic processors right now. Do you? If you are having a difficult time understanding the difference between DWDM and TDMA or need to know why Sonet is on it's way out and Point-to-Point is in. Or what a photonic processor does or what you would use one for (hint: this message is most likely being delivered to you using one) there is a site to help you see the light. The site contains some very good tutorials for those who want to understand the technology used in fiber optic networking from a layman's perspective. You don't have to be a physicist or engineer to understand the papers. I use these tutorials all the time. iec.org BTW I agree that Gilder doesn't have a great stock picking record.....but then in the last year who does? Gilder does have a pretty good handle on how all this stuff fits together from a technology perspective.
