It is a shame. And of course maybe it's just a product of time?

After all, when we first join we assume (or I should say, I assumed) that most people were just like the people in 3d. But I came to realize 3 things over time. 1. I don't know people in 3d as well as I get to know people here. 2. I am GLAD I don't know people in 3d as well as I know people here- because once you know what someone is like, you can't dig it out of your brain and treat them as if you didn't know- or maybe you can treat them as if you didn't know, if you're a hypocrite, but I can't. And 3. some people are just anathema to one's existence.

When you consider those 3 points- it's no wonder that over time vendettas develop. When someone disgusts you, it's hard to cast that away. I'd say it's impossible, myself. And then when you meet someone else, or several someone elses, who think the same way, or a similar way, as you do (not you CR, just the general "you") clumping begins to take place- and you begin to reinforce each others opinions. And over time the clumps get established.

I think clumping is fine. But I am tired of the fighting that tends to accompany clumping.
