This may sound flip but I don't mean it that way. When have small farmers had it good? I understand for about 5 years in the 1890's they did pretty well but it's been down hill since then.

I am reading that small farmers are having a hard time -

CB...That was my point when I posted this Thursday....Wondered a couple of things....1) How can a foundation be set up for family use? How can it not pay taxes? Is everything (just about) charged against the foundation?

2) Wonder why the very highly wealthy individuals don't just take out whatever they want their family to keep of the money, and give the Government the rest via their will???

What is their reason for wanting to penalize the people whose estate might be worth 1-25 million (family farms, family businesses, etc)???

You have that right. Grain prices are below production costs. One local elevator looked it up and they were paying the same for corn as in 1900. Farm expenses will be up 20% this year due to fuel and fertilizer costs. I'm seeing a lot of quitting farming auctions.
