Hi stribe... "Speaking of puking, Richard.. will that be what RAMBUS is soon doing?"

I don't think so. First, tell me what do Sync DRAMs have to do with this litigation? Doesn't this case deal with SDRAM, SDRAM DDR, and RDRAMs? Why then is 90% of the article talking about Sync DRAMs which has nothing to do with this case? I think you and many others are being blinded by wishful thinking.

stribe, Jackson from THE FOOL is a short good read on the topic...

SemiFool,

Just what was in this article that everyone didn't already know? Everyone already knows
that while Rambus was a JEDEC member they had RDRAM patents pending that would
also cover SDRAM and choose to keep quiet about it. Here are the questions that need
to be answered in the trail.

1. Did Rambus have an obligation to mention it's pending patents formally during a
JEDEC meeting before JEDEC officially changed the rules requiring members to disclose pending
patents? Remember, most of the MMs were already aware of RDRAM technology thru
NDAs. Also the original 1990 patent application was made public in October of l991.
(The real smoking gun.)

2. Did Rambus steer JEDEC into adopting Rambus IP into SDRAM and DDR?

3. Did Rambus take ideas from JEDEC and apply them to it's own patents?

I don't think this article answers any of those questions.

stribe, I think what you are seeing here is the mother of all FUD stories. It is the talk of the message boards. The more people read the article, the more the readers are going in favor of Rambus. So the creditability of the article is in question.
