But this blatant and obvious use of information not available to the investing public has me questioning the whole thesis of investing in the market for the little guy, the investing public.

I wish I could argue your point, but I agree that the deck is INCREASINGLY stacked against us. . . .despite Fool Disclosures or other reforms. At the minimum . . let the buyer beware!

How can an individual investor buy and hold anything, let alone hold a position overnight with any confidence?

Others and I have been preaching against the "buy and hold" strategy for 1 full year now. Generally, it has been a losing proposition. And yes, if you must be in this market, you must be flight of foot to stay in the black. ProfitOften.

The mutual funds are OK.

Generally speaking, I disagree. Even the most diversified of portfolios have shown regular losses the past year.

This is why I keep talking about the need for the Individual Investors to ban together to work on improving our indicators, develop new ways of reading the markets and the manipulation, improving our strategies and uniting our voice against these crimes.

Somebody was selling to all these Individual Investors on Friday according to this statistical data

ameritradeindex.com

Top 10 daily buys: JDSU 31.37%, SUNW 18.42%, in all 93.86% buyers (!!!)

It wouldn't surprise me at all to see the market go much lower early next week with data like this.
