Yes, I see you are befuddled. It's not a comment on predicting or lucking into a big gain or loss...it's a comment on strategy. If you are taking positions where you are willing to risk 30% on NT...but have profit objectives measured in quarters...it's simply not a sustainable strategy. Someone could have an incredibly high win percentage and would still end up a loser. The problem is, people are trying to scalp counter to the primary trend, with win potential small, loss potential huge. If you want to take pennies for profits, you need to make sure to keep losses are similar...there would be no way to hold NT overnight and do that. It would only a matter of time until one less trader on the thread.

Clearly your point went over at least one head ... since the October gap-down i've held nt.to overnight and over weekend many times, quite heavily between mid-Dec and 04 January ... not one loss doing that, though several times i was underwater for up to two days [several intraday losses though, on mental stops] ... average profit net of commission was well over a loonie, never mind this quarter stuff ... now undoubtedly there was a healthy element of horseshoes in play there, i make no pretensions to guruhood or even proficiency at the craft based on it, whether expressed in the form of gratuitous insults or otherwise ... but i did get your point, and consider it valid.

But nice to see Jimsy slow down your run in atial's challenge -g-
