Paul:
Who was racing to the patent office as SDRAM standards were being formulated. Rambus or Micron It seems Rambus beat Micron by about 5 years and years ahead of JEDEC discussions.

Well Paul.. according to this, Bill Gates is one of those promising "modern code" releases for "Sledge Hammer"
(not that I hold Microsoft in such high esteem.. but this is a profound statement if true.. considering MS has been ambiguous at best about X86-64

Paul,

Remember this if and when AMD's 64 bit Sludge Pumper ever gets released.

Unlike P4, Sledgehammer will run existing code as fast or faster than competing microprocessors.

Now started threatening people with future harassment ? I think you're doing a great job already.
I know this is a sore point for you. Elmer and you too know that P4 has no "modern" code to show all that great MHz advantage and you are deluding yourselves by hoping that Intel will pull another PPro. PPro ran "fading" 16 bit code slow and the industry was in transition to full 32 bit already. Even then Intel had to fix the problem in PII. But now the situation is different. There is competition which is faster than the fastest P4 and Microsoft is not releasing an OS specific to P4.
I know, I know with 1.75v P4 will run at 1.7 GHz. The fact voltage had to be upped is a great indication of how "infinitely scaleable" P4 is.
