Lately, we have too many people writing their emotions rather than good technical, fundamental and market making analysis.

Dividend payment date usually stabilizes stock price then with the reduction of retained earnings per share, the pull back will be related to the dividend paid.

GE does not exist in isolation from the economy, and its valuation cannot remain disconnected with that of the broader market (i.e. ABB+C+NWS, for example, or MER+UTX+?, plus a bit more for premium).

Perhaps your sentence can be restructured thus ...

"if the DOW goes down the tubes...GE is in trouble...sell everything and return to ... cash for awhile"
