Bland,

That is wonderful. I have to tell you that it brought back a bittersweet memory. Years ago I was driving my daughter (she was about 10 at the time)to an appointment and we were running a few minutes late. We turned onto a side street and she noticed a turtle near the edge of the road. She pointed it out to me and said "Mommie, we need to stop and go back, get the turtle and get it away from the road". (We would often "rescue" turtles from the pavement) But I said, "No, we're running late, we're already past it and I'm sure the turtle will be fine." Well of course, you guessed it. When we returned home, we took the same route and there was the turtle, smashed on the road exactly where she pointed it out. She started crying, I started crying, and to this day if I see a turtle on the road, it gets moved or put into the car and transported to a safer environment.
