OT ld: in "Desert Sturm"- the market tanked as I recall, not being invested then. When there was a turn in the action, the market rallied. In 1998, the bombing didn't phase the market too much(?), but wasn't there was a bomb threat at cnbc? "war" is fought more and more by US with technology. Saddam is relying on martyrdom and stealth, extremely formidable opponents. imho, I do not think the suprise Texas fryolator approach will win against martyrdom in the court of world opinion. On the other hand, it's been said (It's been said) the Arab world condemns publicly and supports privately. As for France and Russia-a friend of mine was in Monaco recently where a downed motorcyclist was bleeding in the street for literally over an hour despite my friends alerts to the police (as no one else was helping this person either). Their advice: go to the City Hall. He was protesting to them again as theives robbed a house in broad daylight- same response. Lasse Faire?
I think it's maybe a more intricate international situation than Bush may understand right now. Wish the world luck.
