I think you get the wrong feeling. If you go back and look at Steve's post to which I responded, he wrote:

The Fed raised interest rates and choked off the recovery.

Which I said was not true. As Jacob pointed out, rates were raised leading into the peak of the bubble, then lowered massively thereafter.
