Thanks Bob. Also for the VIP bit. I note you now say that the ASA portfolio differs from AU's by the inclusion of platinum and DeBeers. The reason you originally drew the chart (for me??!) was to demonstrate the arbitrage possibilities between the two stocks on the basis that their portfolios were similar. As you know, ASA is not quoted in SA so I am not personally familiar with it as an investment.

I'm sorry you don't intend to update the chart, which I posted, as the histogram clearly demonstrates the relative components of gold demand/source over time. This is frequently the basis of an argument as, often, folks forget how small CB sales (quoted) actually are.

The pie chart which you recommend shows the change in world production, country to country etc, but does not show the ratio of CB to mining production, which is why I mentioned the histogram chart.
