To underscore my point, let's look at the
strongest telecom stock of the last year: Q.
It is the first Baby Bell with a modern long
distance fiber network. Its stock price has
declined much less than that of all other
new-age long distance companies like GX, LVLT,
MFNX or WCG. Why? Because the RBOC customers provide
the steady cash flow needed to give a solid financial
basis to the company.
