I don't drink beer enough to be a connoisseur. I like Heinekin and some other imports, but I have not explored the wonderful world of microbreweries. I am more prone to drinking wine. I am a fan of Tokay Aszu (5 puttonos), a sweet dessert wine; I like German wine, especially Moselles that are spatleses or better (also sweet, but more citrusy); port, sherry, and madeira; beaujoulais; various other French wines, like Pouilly Fuisse and red burgundies; an occasional chianti; and even some California chardonnay.
I also like cognac, an occasional Amaretto and coffee, and Irish coffee. I tend to drink one of the above before thinking of anything else. Occassionally, I will go for a Scotch or Bourbon, on the rocks. Sometimes, a marguerita or bloody mary. But I drink so rarely nowadays, months may easily go by between indulgences........
