Dear ecommerceman: There was a post a couple days ago of an article detailing horror stories of estate taxes. I think that there are far more of them then wealthy persons. At a very minimum, in my judgement the minimum taxable estate ought to start around 10 million. That would probably allow most family businesses, farms and say long term stock holders to escape. Here is a simple example, over on the EMC board a couple years ago I learned of a postman who only ever bought one stock in his life (EMC). He invested 10k and at that time it was worth about 7 million. He was still working as a postman and wants to just keep the stock for future generations of his family. Now, why in the devil should the govt. be entitled to that rather than his family? JDN
