I can't answer your question but at the conference call I listened to, the CEO said Laser would not be used in urban areas due to eye safety issue. This was my understanding. The following was taken from one of their PDF sales files I have in my email. Maybe you can find the answer here. I am not technologically smart. Link Lady, John, Will, anybaoody out there Yes it is line of sight and no sbow or fog either!~ for your amusement Many years ago a few local techies rigged a camera overlooking a parking lot and transmitted about 3/4 mile line of sight by laser picked up by a dish about three feet in diameter on the roof of their workshop. They observed someone breaking into a car and notified thae police who caught the thief in the act! I saw the system in connection with dd for a venture capitalist. Ulltimately taken over by a Nasdaq co but it was so long ago that I forgot who. It worked fine while the weather cooperqated and the iedeaa idea was to connect offices in the twin towers of the world trade center and the like.. W L
