There is a critical point at which big businesses can no longer supply every need. But without *REAL* competition there will be no one there with the gumption to grab the ring. When you close the open system you lose the competition that makes the system thrive. And of all the big business that poses danger in our economy (and there IS danger there) the one that poses the realest threat is the biggest of all: Uncle Sam. Think about this... what one portion of the US government seems to really have streamlined, and improved it's operations over the years... Only one come to my mind. The USPS. And this is because of UPS and FEDEX looming over their shoulder. The rest of our government is the looming, domineering, greedy, inefficient money vacuum that so many people would want us to believe 'big business' is. I don't expect ecom to agree with what I said. Neither one of us has come to the position we take in a few minutes... ;) From Vonnegut to Neil Peart... There is a song by the rock band Rush called "The Trees" There is unrest in the forest, There is trouble with the trees, For the maples want more sunlight And the oaks ignore their pleas. The trouble with the maples, (And they're quite convinced they're right) They say the oaks are just too lofty And they grab up all the light. But the oaks can't help their feelings If they like the way they're made. And they wonder why the maples Can't be happy in their shade. There is trouble in the forest, And the creatures all have fled, As the maples scream "Oppression!" And the oaks just shake their heads So the maples formed a union And demanded equal rights. "The oaks are just too greedy; We will make them give us light." Now there's no more oak oppression, For they passed a noble law, And the trees are all kept equal By hatchet, axe, and saw. regards, cAPSLOCK (yes... next I WILL quote Ayn Rand)
