I've started to look at REITs more carefully.

They have had a stellar 1 yr record, and their recent appreciation makes me reluctant to jump in here. Morgan Stanley REIT index chart may be developing a double top.

I am not at all sure whether we are heading for deflation or inflation over the next few years. If it is the latter, that would presumably be advantageous for REITs.

Some equity REIT sectors include office and industrial properties, health care, hotel, and manufactured-housing. The last sector is particularly intriguing, if there is a pronounced economic downturn.

I would be interested in any thoughts.
