eventually slip off of AMD's roadmap into oblivion or it will become a printer cpu, scsi/network card cpu like the three new architectures Intel designed before ia64. They all started with similar fanfares. We'll see how sucessful this new non-x86 ISA from Intel will become. Muzo

T. My guess is that Sledgehammer will eventually slip off of AMD's roadmap into oblivion. I hope Intel management shares this opinion. AMD and the 'Droids are vastly underestimating the effort it takes to enter high-end servers. If you make the ground disappear from under your feet, if you start by having to re-create the world from scratch, it does become a monumental effort. Joe
