Thank you for you kind endorsement of the republicans in California. Wait a few moments while we get out the K-Y. Rather parochial attitude you display, wouldn't you agree? I thought GWB was advocating "compassionate" conservatism, not "screw you" provincialism. Take a breath! Maybe if GWB's oil buddies didn't take advantage of our stupid legislature in the first place by gouging CA for powerplant fuel, we wouldn't be in this fix. There is enough blame to go around and Californians will end up paying the bills. Current estimates are up to $20 billion and rising.

If things get too bad for me personally, I'll move to Texas or Oklahoma where the oil wells are. :)

Chas

CA has the largest number of electoral votes of any state- -54. You might want to reconsider. There could be a time when you need those votes.

Oh, did you know Ronnie Reagan was from CA? Not exactly a favorite of the Dems.

And there are at least 4M Republicans in this state:

And I wouldn't be too quick to wish recession on CA. It has a mighty big economy and will take the rest of the nation with it.

We're all in the same boat and we float or sink together.

The way to get Californians voting Republican again isn't going to be by screwing them. That will have exactly the opposite results. There is a LOT of money in this state. A fair amount still goes to Republicans. Want to see it ALL go to the Democrats?
