For Rambi ~

Sometimes, maybe always, we should wait for dawn to speak, knowing that the night brings thoughts and memories that can not reach us with the harshness of the sun. But isn't that what nighttime is for? To free us from the glare, to let us relax and let the world that is too soft for the harshness of day reach us? And don't you wish I would shut up sometimes?

You speak of the country
The bucolic land
Of tamed gardens
But she lives in the wilds
Where the hand
Of your docile life
Has not reached
With its killing frost
She greets you
With skirt bundled
Full
Of the season’s offerings
She lays the bounty
Upon the table
She lives in the wilds
Where the trees
Still whisper their tales
And shed their leaves
For the sake of the dance
And deer pause
Upon their path
To enjoy the beauty
Of the rain
of crimson and gold
and she sits
beside the falls
as they splash
and spray
from one playground
to the next
not knowing if they speak
and not caring
only knowing
that within their sound
she hears
more beauty
and truth
than she has ever heard from man
