Amy... Are you aware that a standard can of beer contains 12 oz? If you took 1 oz. and placed it in a shot glass and drank it, then got into your car and drove it to the corner and were stopped by a policeman that you could be cited for DUI? Most people are not aware of that. That is what differentiates DUI from DWI (Driving Under the Influence and Driving While Intoxicated). ANY amount of alcohol can get you a citation for DUI, no matter how small the amount that was consumed. Ask any police officer.

Was GWB charged with DUI or DWI? I think it was DUI.

And while we're at it... how about Edward Kennedy?

Amy Re...Do you live in the beer State? <

Yes, Wis, was known as a beer state. Milwaukee had many breweries. (Good water and the hops were grown locally.) However most of the beer factories have closed. There are mostly small breweries left.

<<<<<I would recommend you not be resistant to information that conveys your response is inappropriate, but rather, spend some time to reflect upon your values in this particular area. <<<<<<<

If you are talking about my values as concerned to drinking, yes I am liberal in this area. While I was strictly a social drinker, (I never stopped after work, or ever drank a beer at home.); I did go out to the bars 2 nights a week, plus I drank some after ball games, or when we played cards. Have I ever driven when I was drunk? Sure, several times. But I was never stopped those nights. I lived in the country and stuck to the back roads. I think the drunk driving laws have gotten too severe, in that the kids should be allowed to go out and have some fun. Plus, there are worse drugs out there besides alcohol. While I realize this would cause some highway deaths , the cost might be worth it when you consider the amount of kids turning to other drugs to have some fun.
