There is a town near hear (Petersburg, Alaska) where there is no law against car theft. Perhaps it is because a stolen car has nowhere to go and the police can easily nab the thieves by searching the entire road system. There is, however, a law against leaving your keys in the ignition. That is to prevent joy riding teenagers.
