Here's a thread I've posted some information and opinion on lately, re: the California energy "crisis":

The majority of states (38) have not passed deregulation and in view of the fiasco in California, I think the pipe dreams of the free marketeers are going to be postponed indefinitely. The market has proven to be a fickle and vicious bride for the de-regulated utility industry.

So.. what is next ?? :
More volatility in the equity markets. Unsettled credit markets. Nervous FRB. Nervous consumers. Nervous employeees. And a guarantee that natural gas will never return to $2/MCF. Other than that, life's uncertain. Therefore, eat dessert first.
