Francis Yuen Says C&W to Make An Announcement Today Feb 19, 2001 - 17:43:16 HKT Quamnet News Service Francis Yuen, deputy chairman of Pacific Century CyberWorks (0008), said Cable & Wireless Plc will make an announcement later today, in response to reporters' questions about the U.K.-based company's stake in PCCW. However, it was unclear whether the announcement would just be a clarification of recent rumors in the market or an announcement about the sale of its stake. Peter Eustace, a spokesman for C&W in London, declined to say if a statement is planned for today. C&W, the second-largest shareholder of PCCW, is allowed to sell a 7.5 percent stake in the Hong Kong-listed company after a lock-up period expired Saturday. quamnet.com
