May is the latest I've heard, BWDIK. I think I read somewhere on this thread that they will be demo'ed late next month (at some major european show?). Sorry about your Palm-less state.

anyone have a firm(ish) date on the new color Palm's in the Palm V form-factor?

WLD:

Last thing I read (unoffical, not from Palm) said they're supposed to be unveiled at CeBIT in (Hanover) next month, which runs from 3/22 to 3/28. Earnings are due out 3/27, so I'd guess they'd be available for sale at around the same time as the announcements, but who knows?

The Palm Vx is now discounted to $399, so that's a sign that they're aiming at working off the inventory before the new models with color and SD expansion slot are launched.

SkyTel in Mexico to Offer Internet Service on Handheld Palms
By Thomas Black

Monterrey, Mexico, Feb. 19 (Bloomberg) -- SkyTel, the largest Mexican paging company, plans to offer clients Internet service over Palm Inc.'s handheld devices.

SkyTel, owned by Mexican broadcaster Grupo Televisa SA and WorldCom Inc., will use its digital system and software from Glenayre Technologies Inc. to allow customers to send e-mail and access the Internet from their Palms, the company said.

``This service represents for our company a great achievement in wireless communication,'' said Jose Luis Mejia, marketing director for SkyTel in the release.
