Yes I read it. I re-read it after reading you response and it seems quite comprehensible, but then of course I know what my meaning is so it might be a little like looking at your own handwriting and declaring it legible. Its not really a double negative. One person does not support something and that lack of support is not equivalent to something else. But since apparently I did not make my meaning clear I will rephrase the post. One can have compassion for the victim of a violent crime without supporting all the decisions they make in reaction to that crime and its consequences. Lack of support for some of the actions of the victim is not the same as a lack of compassion for the victim. BTW - I don't ordinarily read or post on this thread. There was a link to a post on this thread posted somewhere else on SI and I saw something that I thought deserved a response. If someone replies directly to me I will see it in my inbox and perhaps reply to it. Tim
