ouch! I had no idea that MM were at high risk of default. I keep most of my "money" that isn't "invested" in MM funds. For example, when I sell my stocks the "cash" ends up in a MM. It would be very hard to avoid MMs - like trying to avoid cake when you are trying to diet and work at a bakery.
