I see more of a crime problem then a gun problem.

We've always had a crime problem. It's just that crimes were less scary before guns became de rigueur. In my mind, that makes it a gun problem.

Or do you equate opposition to gun control with mindless reverence?

No. I don't want to restrict ownership of guns. I'm talking about the people who kiss their guns each night before they go to bed. The ones that think the right to own a gun is some kind of "ultimate truth." You can't talk about a "gun problem" with people who react to the phrase like someone's about to castrate them. You can't solve a gun problem if you can't even say the words.
