you know that ask knighty tim does not sound quite like ask mb... i was talking to someone today who has been suspect of the markets and he asked me where i learned what (little ho ho) i know...i told him from some good people on si... i feel a little silly recommending he check out the 'ask knighty tim' thread !!! why not join us on the old myth of the big kahuna thread and maybe we close this one after we have a 90k post party ?

You're referring to 18-1 shot, Gracie's Dancer. I was rooting for him too. I always like to see an 18-1 shot beat the chalk. But, I don't share your enthusiasm for him -- unless that was his first try around two turns. He went around in 1:11.2 for 3/4 (not exactly a killer fraction) and @1:37 for the mile. However, if it was his first try around 2 turns, I'll agree with you. Then we might expect more out of him next time.
