I try to balance the effort I invest in a post with the importance of the message. The comment you quoted was written to guide readers from taking an number I posted previously as a statement of an undisputed well recognized fact, but instead, as a number commonly publicised often enough to be readily recognizable as to its source. I have a position in CSCO. I post to this thread. I do not waste my time posting to those threads where I have no positions. However, my original post was a little off-topic, and by using CSCO in my example, I was hoping that my straying would offend the serious thread participants less. Unfortunately, I seemed to have re-ignited behaviours that many were hoping to see disappear. For those who suggest I put my money where my mouth is and up my position, I have one reply: Up yours.
