I must have misunderstood your earlier post. I thought that you bought wcom in that period based on valuation considerations, and interpreted your comment, "Value is not a synonym for safety...", as recognition that the approach didn't work.

Jacob and UF, barriers to entry into a mkt or into a companys cashflow stream are ,or should be, a primary concern. Deregulation has led to low BTE for comm. companys like WCOM and made its product homogenius(my two cents).
