Steve,
Don't doubt for one minute that both the Saudis and Kuwaitis were pushing for this type of action. For this we will get lower energy prices quicker. Saddam in a box is the key to maintaining middle east peace. Arab leaders may not be able to say this publicly but privately they turn on the oil spigot. Clinton was so interested in Israel/Palestine peace, he totally ignored the Iraq problem but now that those peace talks are history traditional foreign policy matters can be dealt with. We will find as we move away from the Clinton years that many of these foreign policy matters have been ignored as Bill tried to be the world's peacemaker rather than the commander in chief of the US. Bush is doing fine so far. mike

Dear Steve Lee: I have a feeling you and I see eye to eye on this Iraq situation and perhaps the Mideast in General. I have had several Arab friends, (mostly Lebanese) and I am CONVINCED that the only think the Arabs respect is STRENGTH. They are among the shrewdest negotiators in the World with their skills honed over a thousand years. Pussyfooting around the way Clinton did was NEVER going to bring peace. They must be made to understand our LIMITS and that we will STOMP ALL OVER THEM if they exceed that. I am not in the least concerned about the Arab outcry as that was to be expected but I bet they dont ask us to leave. haha. Its ALL PART OF THE GAME of Negotiations, what we take as a pain in the butt, they delight in. JDN

Just wondering if I am in the right place....checked in this weekend...saw a bunch of posts. Maybe 2 had the word SUNW in the post, the rest was all off topic. I check in this morning.....10 new posts....I'm only on the first, but I don;t see sunw mentioned anywhere....I hope I don't read the other 9 posts to see that less then half have nothing to do with sunw........respectfully to all, is it possible to take the off topic discussion private, or possible start a new coffee shop thread and discuss OT matters over there. I'm not concerned with OT posts on threads, I make them myself....but when you reach a point where the bulk of posts on a thread are off topic, then I think something needs to be done to put a halt to that, and if I am not mistaken, it seems this is exactly what is happening on this thread now...mostly off topic discussion.....

Just my opinion and not directed at anyone in particular...just general observations.
