OWNSTOCK: Health represents 18% of the GNP and is rising at nearly 6-8% year. So called TECH productivity is barely able to maintain a GDP steady growth growth of 4% . With the aging population in the U.S , Japan and the OECD , those countries will see an increase in their pro rata health expenditures. Further, as the large populations of China and India raise their standards their Health cost will also increase just as it did here.

One of the factors contributing to productivity has been the reduction of days lost due to sickness and death. If it was not a factor we would not be spending such large sums on Health.
