i emailed myself a vbs file and even though i changed the extension back to vbs from zlo, it still came through as zlo. so zonealarm must override the vbs extension no matter what.

like you, i was given the option to open or save to disk. when i selected open i got a stern-looking warning from za saying vbs files were very dangerous and should only be opened if absolutely sure blah blah blah. (even though i'd just sent it to myself, i was scared and didn't trust the sender!) <g3>

choosing the save to disk option, and consequently picking the desktop as a place to park the file, an icon was produced with a big red X on it. again, i was very skeptical of the contents of this file i had just mailed to me!

but in all seriousness, saving an attachment to disk first and then right-clicking it and selecting 'scan with norton antivirus' is the best choice (for those that run av programs, anyway).

:)
