Tim, YES, CAPT AMERIKA HAS STARTED A WAR THREE WEEKS INTO HIS ADMINISTRATION. I AM SO GLAD YOU LIKE YOUR PRESIDENT. TED <<<< Tim stated simply that the US aircraft were attacking radar control centers that direct fire against our planes flying in the no fly zone. Are you trying to say that our pilots flying in the no fly zone have no right to retaliate against their attackers? Harry, read the news...the last Iraqi firing on American warplanes was over a year ago. Why are we retaliating now? How do you know the retaliation wasn't appropriate? How do you know that it was?And I am threatened and disturbed by the lack of finess he has shown to date when it comes to international relations and interactions.<<<<<<< You are threatened????? By who? GW hasn't even been in office 30 days yet. How could he possibly have done anything that threatening to you yet. For an answer go back and read all my posts on Bush. Finally, I was surprised and disappointed that in this recent sub incident he had a spokesperson from defense contact Japan's prime minister rather than himself, and that the prime minister was not kept updated but rather was learning new aspects of the incident from the American press>>>> That statement really makes sense. You say GW had a spokesperson from defense contact Japans's prime minister, and fill him in, I said contacted the Japanese PM, not fill him in. Contact him as to give his condolences to the Japanese people and an apology on the behalf of the American people. yet the prime minister wasn't kept updated. Why not? Don't have a clue. <<<BTW this is not a complaint against international relations, but rather I thought it was sad commentary on his lack of senstivity? compassion? courtesy? by handling the incident in this way.<<<<<<<< So now you are an expert of foreign relations? Harry, Harry, we all have opinions. I am entitled to have mine and to express them just as you are free to express yours. All countries have standard operating procedures. The state dept normally would handle this type of thing. Should GW have contacted Japans prime minister personally? I have no idea. This is not an issue of SOP...forget that I brought it up. ted
