11:00 20-FEB-2001 Hikari Tsushin predicts 37b yen special loss from investment losses Hikari Tsushin Inc has revised down its earnings from a profit of 2.7 billion yen to a loss of 23.06 billion yen (almost US$200 million) for fiscal year 00/01. The estimated dividend of 40 yen a share will not be distributed but a 37 billion yen special loss from losses on investments is now expected. The company president Yasumitsu Shigeta is said to be planning an injection of inject 10 billion yen for Hikari Tsushin new shares so as to boost the company's capital. Share price of Hikari Tsushin dropped 3.2 pct this morning. (End)
