their main problem, was the need to change their xenophobia and liberalize their immigration policies, to change the basic demographic problem they are facing.

Bingo! 'Course that change "ain't gonna happen". OTOH with a demographic profile that is the inverse of the US, from a demographic perspective their markets should be ramping (later this decade) while the US markets collapse. We "need" someplace to put capital for appreciation. <gg>
