Katherine,
We are talking about the market though and what you say "could" be already factored in. Meanwhile, I dont believe consumer spending has fallen off a cliff here. American consumers tend to get back to consuming quite quickly. What I am concerned about is this media/pundit effect on investors who perhaps should be buying stocks in anticipation of the next upturn in business. And that media/pundit opinion has been particularly negative after the NT guidance. Mike

Intel to cut "discretionary spending" by 30%. Capex is in that category, right? And if Intel now is going to cut back, then the hope fades that technology buys won't fall off the cliff like capacity buys have. They are the leader that many other semis will follow. We need to see whether the capex number at Intel is going to change.
