I did and it appears the last confrontation with Iraqi troops was over a year ago.<<<< I posted a article from Home New.com sent in by my huge fan club of 1 about an attack 6 months ago, not 1 yr. If I am correct, why was there not a response until just three weeks after Bush takes office. Don't you think that its just a little bit suspicious and that this order to attack fits into the alter ego that I have created for Mr. Bush....Capt Amerika? < I don't think it is suspicious at all. If you look back at my last post, I stated 3 reasons for the attack. The first reason, and I believe the real reason for the attack is that Colin Powell wanted it. Why. You have said on this thread that Madeline Albright was a lightweight. A nice lady but a lightweight. To differentiate his policy from Madeline's, Colin needed an example. What better example is there in the world than Saddam, the guy everyone loves to hate. Saddam is so despicable, he can't get any sympathy even if he was a martyr. How could we reestablish our power in the Mideast. Kick the main powerbroker in the mideast around a little bit and remind Saddam and the mideast who is boss. Arabs and military men understand power. Colin needed to establish his power in order to control policy in the mideast; and the sooner the better. The simple fact that the Air Force also wanted it made it even better. The saudis,Kuwaitis, Egyptians, etc, all need the US to protect them from Iraq. But the attack gives them a chance to denounce the US and appease their arab brethern, but say Saddam is to awful to go to war over. Even Saddam himself gets to play the martyr and act defiant to his countrymen. That is the reason for the attack. Everyone one wanted it, and each nation will use it to advance their agenda. You seem to be more upset than the arabs are. There wasn't any news on the raid today. Shouldn't you ask yourself why?
