money market fund assets have seen a huge expansion...this usually goes hand in hand with the GSE's expanding their balance sheets. it is however a fallacy to believe that this is money 'just waiting to jump into the stock market'. after all, the money market funds contain all sorts of prettified paper...if that's being sold, where are corporations going to get their financing?

however, the $3 trillion number is one trillion too many...it's only $2 trillion. up from 1,75 trillion last September. (that's TOTAL money market fund assets)
