chic, I realized after the fact you must be doing covered calls. from that perspective, i Agree, premiums seem to be fantastic. i did a lot of covered call selling last year, which helped on the positions i was holding in reducing basis as you note. however, sometimes, i felt the call selling sort of distracted me from the underlying theme of the stock. i guess that matters the most when a stock makes a monster move up or down. if a stock's monster move is over, then covered calls may be a great performer. also, depends on the person. good luck, MM
