Changing your (company) culture is close to impossible and takes years
Half-right, changing it for the better takes years. It can take a turn for the worse quickly if trust is lost.

Compaq tried to spin DEC and AltaVista into gold, and almost did it, but they could split into 2 separate companies if the culture/operations clash is too great. Compaq for the old and AltaCompaq for the new (and later choose a real name). (partly in jest)
