it is probably reasonable to expect that the explosion in mortgage refinancings over the past two or three months will halt the economy's slide for a little while...but they won't reverse it imo.

GE has signalled a buy again. It went above 50-day ema for the first time since Dec 11 today. If it closes above 48 today and tommorrow, I think it would be a serious signal that the DOW is ready to break through 11000. Just imho.
