What's ironic is that my margin % is the lowest it's ever been, yet I am still stressed out about it and want to lose it all together........last year, if I was under 20% margin, I would be buying heavy andb trading heavy...now, even that 20% margin scares me.......IF I did buy...say some jdsu or sunw at these new 52 week lows they are setting, and should they continue downward, it could force me into a margin call....anyway, it's amazing what an actual margin call can do to your psyche....I've only received one, but because of that one it now causes me to sell before i even get close to a call.....not really very good....for instance, the ssti I sold today....there really was no reason to sell, especially so low...I was not close to having a margin call, but I made a new margin limit in my head...and that figure is 20%....I do not ever want to be more then 20% on margin...so as the stocks i have drop, I am selling to keep that margin level at 20%.....petty damned stupid....I should either not sell at all and force it by making them give me an actual call and then take my stock or I should sell some $hit, get to zero margin, then I can trade the volatility, maybe do some buy/writes with the 20% I will allow myself to use.....actually,that was the plan, but the collapse of jdsu, sunw, sndk, ssti atml and a few others have put all that on hold.....was hoping to sell near 2800 - 2950 on a pop, but instead, nortel screwed us all by dropping the bomb on thursday...had they not, I believe we would have had some follow thru on friday instead of a total collapse and I was ready to lose the last of my margin on that pop....oh well, ...you've heard thr saying live and learn....well, I am living and have learned more then I care too<ggg>
