I had not seen the PR before. This directly competes with the Othello chip set from ADI. I do not follow the TXN thread and just thought it was worthy to post - especially since they are targeting 3G, while ADI is not. More features in 3G will mean more power usage. Direct conversion chips will help reduce the power consumption of cell phones. 3G will take awhile to get into full production, but getting designers thinking about your product offerings earily and the advantages of using it is key. TXN has an big advantage over ADI in that they have many engineers, in cell phone circles, that are used to designing with thier DSP's. Jim
